EXPERIENCE:

Stan Johnson is responsible for the overall operations of Spero Corporation. He directly supervises the consulting, engineering and the site environmental assessment and remediation activities for the company. Mr. Johnson received a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering and is a registered professional engineer with over twenty-five years of environmental engineering and management related experience.

Mr. Johnson has conducted site assessment and remediation activities for commercial and industrial clients and engineering property condition assessments at hundreds of sites in over twenty states and has extensive experience with recognized standard practices. Mr. Johnson’s experience and knowledge of site assessment methods, procedures and guidelines enable him to provide the level of assessment necessary in order for clients to satisfy their “due diligence” requirements. Additionally, he is qualified and has been called upon as an expert witness for clients.

Mr. Johnson’s consulting experience also includes Phase II and III studies, underground storage tank (UST) assessments, UST system design and installation, lead, asbestos and hazardous materials testing, plant inspections, remediation planning, indoor air quality and general environmental consulting. He has worked with regulatory agencies and private parties to satisfy compliance issues regarding air emissions, waste water effluent emissions, solid waste disposal activities, subsurface soil and groundwater corrective action requirements, Sara Title III Audits and general plant audits.

Mr. Johnson also has extensive industrial experience in regulatory permit preparation for air emissions, wastewater discharges and solid waste disposal. He has worked directly in the pulp and paper, textile, vinyl and construction industries as a process and environmental engineer and has industrial experience which includes the following:

  • Regulatory Permits: Air (including Title V), NPDES, Storm Water, Solid Waste, and Construction
  • Development and Supervision of permit compliance testing and reporting program regarding air emissions (including stack testing) and wastewater effluent
  • Development and supervision of EPA lab certification program
  • Installation and start-up of continuous monitoring and sampling equipment for air pollutant emissions and waste water discharges
  • Installation and start-up of reclamation systems including solvent recovery, pulp fiber recovery, fly-ash recovery, and process water reclamation systems
  • Remediation plan design and management for PCB contaminated sites, petroleum contaminated sites, solvent and hazardous waste contaminated sites (including soil and ground-water Remediation) and radon mitigation design and installation
  • Facility construction design and project management including general design, installation, start-up and maintenance of process equipment (heat exchangers, evaporators, boilers, filtering systems, washers, material handling equipment, material lift elevators, pumps and process piping)
